Privacy policy
Registration lookups are the core of this service. We collect as little as possible to return MOT history.
MOT Checker UK processes the registration plate you submit in order to return vehicle and MOT information. A plate on its own is not enough to identify a living person from this site, and we do not ask for your name, email or payment details to run a check.
What we process
- The registration you enter, so we can query MOT history.
- Technical logs such as IP address, user agent and timestamps, used to debug errors and rate-limit abuse.
- Standard hosting analytics if enabled by the deployment platform.
What we do not do
We do not sell lookup data. We do not build advertising profiles from plates. We do not request keeper names, addresses or payment cards for the core checker. Live DVSA requests, when configured, are sent to DVSA’s MOT History API under that API’s terms.
Retention
Application logs are kept only as long as needed for security and reliability. Cached MOT responses may be stored briefly to speed up repeat lookups of the same plate. You can use the official GOV.UK service if you prefer not to query this site.
