Terms of use
Use the checker for personal, legitimate checks of UK MOT history. The service is provided as-is.
MOT Checker UK is an independent information tool. It is not affiliated with DVSA, DVLA or GOV.UK. Results may come from the official MOT History API when credentials are configured, or from labelled demo data when they are not.
Acceptable use
You may look up plates for vehicles you own, intend to buy, or otherwise have a legitimate reason to check. You may not use automated scraping to harvest large volumes of MOT data, attempt to overload the API, or present this site as a government service.
No warranty
We aim for accurate, timely results, but MOT records can be delayed, incomplete or corrected after publication. Always confirm critical decisions — especially whether a vehicle is legal to drive — against the official GOV.UK record and the condition of the vehicle itself. Guides on this site are general information, not legal advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operators are not liable for loss arising from reliance on a lookup, downtime, or demo data being mistaken for a live record. If a result is marked as sample data, do not treat it as the vehicle’s official history.
